Preparation

How To Prepare
For all my clients i think tattoo appointment prep can help you stay comfortable for as long as possible when getting tattooed with our day session tattoos and even smaller tattoos a week of prep and knowing what to bring with you can be a big game changer!
LOTION YOUR SKIN & DRINK MORE WATER
In the weeks leading up to your scheduled appointment please make sure you’re drinking as much water as possible! Along with that, applying lotion daily is huge to prep your skin for a quality tattoo. When sitting for a full day of tattooing, the more you pay attention to these things the better quality tattoo you can get from me and the more comfortably you’ll sit as-well! Dry skin can lead to your tattoo taking longer overall and a lower quality end result. Hydration is VITAL to ensure you get the best quality tattoo possible.
EXFOLIATE
Exfoliating your skin in the shower can remove dead skin from the area we are going to be tattooing. Please do sparingly in the weeks leading up to your appointment and do not overdo it! But every once in awhile is a great way to prep skin. Please make sure you don’t exfoliate any closer than a few days before you’re appointment.
SLEEP
Sleep helps with a lot overall. Pain tolerance does get affected if you’re low on sleep! Sleeping in the chair is not the solution! Getting a full night's rest the day before your tattoo will keep you feeling good. But if you’re so relaxed during the tattoo that you get in a few Z’s, I’ll let you slide.
EAT A GOOD SIZE MEAL FOR BREAKFAST
Eating. Is. So. Important. Please. Please. Please. Eat before your appointment. Tattooing can take A LOT out of you when we start some big projects. Not eating will be the downfall of many who think breakfast isn’t needed. Plus a grumbling tummy can distract from the music.
BRING A LUNCH
We will be taking breaks throughout our session including a half time break for some lunch. I usually bring a lunch, but please feel free to order any food on apps, bring your own to microwave, or step out to go grab something yourself!
Eating during an appointment, especially a big tattoo day is a big deal! Blood sugar can drop and can lead to headaches, lightheadedness, or sometimes passing out. To avoid that as much as you can, please make sure you eat all you can to keep that pain tolerance up and you feeling good!
THINGS TO BRING TO YOUR TATTOO APPOINTMENT
Feel free to bring any items that make you more comfortable to sit in the chair! I recommend headphones, an iPad, a phone, book, etc.
Please make sure you wear clothing that is comfortable and gives full access to the area we will be tattooing.
Any snacks or candy are welcomed while you are getting tattooed as well!
PLEASE DO NOT PLAN ANY OUTSIDE EVENTS AFTER YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT
I will not rush your tattoo for any reason. If you have to cut the day short because you’re going to be late for another event, I can stop at my earliest convenience and a full day payment will be requested. Any more time that’s needed will get scheduled and will be another paid day.
LATE POLICY
If you are 30 minutes late with no contact, this will be counted as a no-call, no-show and will result in a loss of deposit. If we both agree to continue work with each other another deposit will be required to reschedule.
